Restoring Dignity to Sri Lanka's Spice Farmers
From international sales manager to ethical spice trading pioneer - my journey to connect Sri Lanka's smallholder farmers with the global market they deserve.
My name is Pramuditha Damsara Wanniarachchi
And CeylonSpizee began with a simple but powerful realization that would change the course of Sri Lankan spice trading forever.
Two Sides of the Same Story
Working as an International Sales Manager in Sri Lanka, I've spent years engaging with global buyers, importers, and food brands. Through this journey, I clearly saw two sides of the same story.
International buyers were struggling with traceability, transparency, consistency, and reliability when sourcing agricultural commodities.
At the same time, Sri Lanka's smallholder spice farmers—the true backbone of our agricultural industry—were receiving little recognition, limited market access, and often an unfair share of the value they create.
The Real Heroes of Sri Lankan Agriculture
These farmers are the real heroes of Sri Lankan agriculture. They carry generations of knowledge, understand the land, the soil, and the climate, and produce some of the finest spices in the world.
Yet too often, their effort and expertise remain invisible once the product enters the global supply chain. I knew there was a gap—and more importantly, a responsibility—to bridge that divide.
"I knew there was a gap—and more importantly, a responsibility—to bridge that divide between our farmers and the global market they deserve."
More Than Just Another Origin Country
Sri Lanka is not just another origin country. It is the home of authentic Ceylon spices, shaped by unique geography, climate, and traditional agricultural wisdom that cannot be replicated elsewhere.
Unique Geography
Central highlands and diverse microclimates create perfect growing conditions
Generational Knowledge
Centuries of agricultural wisdom passed down through families
Organic Tradition
Natural farming methods that preserve biodiversity and soil health
CeylonSpizee Was Born From Belief
CeylonSpizee was born from the belief that this value should be preserved, respected, and shared—while ensuring that the farmers behind it receive their rightful recognition and fair return.
With a background in International Business Management and a strong interest in technology and automation, I began building transparent systems—AI-driven sales tools, CRM workflows, and efficient export processes—to create trust and reliability for global buyers.
But agriculture is not built on systems alone. It is built on people.
That Understanding Led to Meaning
That understanding led me to one of the most meaningful partnerships in our journey.
By chance—and perhaps destiny—I became neighbors with Mr. Samantha Buddhika, a forestry professional with over 20 years of experience in sustainable forestry, ecosystem restoration, community-based projects, and conservation work with the Sri Lanka Forest Department.
His deep understanding of land management, sustainability, and farmer engagement brought a vital dimension to CeylonSpizee. It was through him that Agarwood and Oud Oil became part of our vision, expanding our mission beyond spices into responsibly sourced essential oils.
What began as my idea soon became our shared purpose.

Direct Connections
By connecting farmers directly with international buyers, we create a supply chain that connects people, not just products.
Organic Commitment
We focus exclusively on organic products, not as a marketing choice, but as a long-term commitment to health, sustainability, and environmental responsibility.
Accessible Pricing
Our aim is to make premium organic Ceylon spices accessible at conventional prices, encouraging wider adoption of organic food globally.
"At CeylonSpizee, we believe in long-term B2B partnerships, fair trade, and mutual growth. Every shipment we send represents more than a transaction—it carries the hard work of our farmers, the wisdom of our land, and our promise to do business with integrity."
We do not impose minimum order quantities because we genuinely want to support startups and growing food brands, just as we are building our own journey.
This is how we bring true value back to the real heroes of Sri Lankan agriculture
—the smallholder spice farmers—by giving them visibility, respect, and access to the global market they deserve.
When our products carry your brand, you gain more than a dependable supplier of exceptional spices—you gain a story that resonates. Rooted in origin, refined through quality, and delivered with integrity, our partnership elevates your narrative.
Because together, we create something greater—where one plus one becomes far more than two.
